“Very Different Animalsis a very different way of representing the relationship between painting and poetry than one typically sees. … To us, the poem and the painting finish one another’s thoughts or say what the other cannot say due to the limits of their medium. “
These are the five available painting-poems. Each canvas holds the same poem by Frank Sherlock, titled “Very Different Animals.” If interested in purchasing, please contact me directly:[email protected]
Each canvas is 2.5″ x 3.5″, sumi ink wash with acrylic paint; accordion fold-out poem inset in the back. $40, plus $5 shipping
These are the masks I was working on all spring (2012) for a dance choreographed by Jillian Harris-Farrell at Temple University. Based on Dante’s Inferno and the punishment of the Diviners, these masks are designed for the performer to wear as a hat, with the visage facing backwards as the dancer performs with their back to the audience, giving the impression that the head is spun around backwards. All masks are papier mache and acrylic paint.
